Great quality for a value price! We love it!I bought this frame for an oil painting a friend of mine did and gave me years ago. Until recently, I had the canvas hanging on the wall without a frame for a modern look, but then I moved to a new home with light yellow walls that washed out the piece. I bought this frame because even when I found frames the same size on clearance for similar prices, between shipping and oversized charges my costs doubled, often on frames that would’ve complemented the painting less.The good: price, color (a rich, blood red), rabbet (3/4”, which is a common depth of ready-made canvases that painters use), ease of mounting/assembly, overall quality, looks nice to a casual looker.The bad: as with other Craig Frames I’ve bought, the corners are not tightly joined and pull slightly apart. It’s a job for Gorilla Glue and clamps, and for me not a dealbreaker at the price. The red color of the frame seems to be from a paper overlay, not staining, which will probably peel in the long term.Ultimately, for a quick, inexpensive frame that looks good, this is a great frame. Just don’t set your expectations too high/expect something artisan and handmade.The frame is of high quality and attractive but it did not have a stand on the back for tabletop use. It does have “hangers” on the back so you can hang the frame on a wall.I used this lovely cherry wood frame to frame a vintage horoscope puzzle I made for my daughter for mother's day. It was very easy to frame the puzzle, color was perfect and true to the size I needed. Quality frame.Great frame at a great price. Comes with hanging hardware and a thin clear acrylic panel to cover a print or poster. Boxed well to protect corners and made in the USA!Yes, as some reviews point out, the materials in this frame are not high end. It is laminated pressboard rather than actual wood.That said, if you want a high end frame, pay high end prices. This is a low cost frame that looks like a much more expensive frame from the front (the only part anyone but you will see). Mine arrived very well packaged and in perfect condition.I put it around an oil painting and it looks great!Make sure you look at the depth of the frame depending on what you are putting in it. This one can accommodate a poster with the plexiglass front and cardboard backing and it is deep enough for a painting on a standard pre stretched canvas frame.To avoid damage to my canvas, I pulled out the metal clips inside the frame which hold the cardboard backing in place. This was easy to do with a pair of pliers. Needle nose work best.The hanging hardware comes included and installs in less than a minute if you have a power screwdriver, three minutes if you only have a manual one. You would not want the hardware pre installed, since everyone's installation needs will vary (horizontal vs. vertical, etc).The plexiglass front has a protective plastic on both sides to keep it from damaging in shipping. You will need to remove it or the plexiglass will look terrible.The only way this frame could be improved is to include the installation backing for a painting canvas. Since this is a deeper frame, more people will want this one for paintings as opposed to photos or posters.I am happy with this product but the quality could be better. I thought the frame would be shiner than it is. It is a very standard frame but works well for what I bought it for. The window is made of a plastic material, not a glass as I expected but I guess it makes it easier for shipping purposes.It was perfect, no flaws, no rough corners (or unpainted). Highly recommend this frame - not glass but plex-acrylic type glass.This frame is absolutely flawless. It came very well wrapped as well.
